This set was an opener for Santana. YEM included an Oye Como Va tease from Trey as well as Under Pressure teases in the vocal jam.

TheBuddhistProdigy My first show. I came for Santana. I remember the vocal jam in YEM and thinking to myself.... stop, look, listen. These guys are more than college kids fun time, great vocal talent.

I was able to locate the video footage online for the Phish show on August 29, 1992 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. This show is very good I enjoyed the video a lot. I hope you enjoy this footage as much as I did and find it helpful.

Review by Bob_Loblaw

Bob_Loblaw This is a pretty high energy set and a great set at that.

Chalkdust lights up the audience right away, may be standard length but it is pure fire from beginning to end. Rift is in it's an infancy here and is still trying to figure itself out, so it can be forgiven for being average at best. Maze continues the trend of destruction as it goes through a beautiful series of tension and release, pretty spot on version. YEM is also pretty damn solid, must have been a lot of fun for those in attendance to see a very well executed Santana tease performed inside of it.

Overall an above average opening set with a lot of energy. And why not? On the hollowed grounds of such a significant and famous venue such as Shoreline you have to bring it, and they did.

DollarBill Great sounding board recording from another Santana opener set. I love to hear the stage banter between songs.

Good Chalk Dust to open. Page is a little loose in his parts. Rift has it's problems going into Page's solo section. Fish stays on his beat and eventually gets back together with the rest of the band. They are not quite locked in tonight. Bouncing is pretty standard. Maze is ok, but again, not quite locked in like it has been. YEM also has some loose parts in it. Trey blows the boy, man, god, shit vocals. The vocal jam contains a brief Fame (David Bowie) quote.

Pretty good set. A little loose in the playing, especially Rift. At least it was a board recording.
